Makolaa's Verification Process for Black-Owned Businesses

At Makolaa, maintaining the integrity of our mission to support Black-owned businesses is a top priority. To ensure that all sellers meet our standards, we have implemented a thorough verification process that authenticates the business’s ownership and commitment to our community values.

Our Verification Process Includes:

  1. Ownership Verification:
    • Sellers will be required to submit documentation confirming that the business is at least 75% Black-owned. Acceptable documentation includes business registration papers, ownership agreements, or other relevant proof of ownership.
  2. Social Presence Review:
    • We will review the seller’s public social media profiles, website, or other online presence to confirm alignment with Makolaa’s mission. This step helps us verify the business’s legitimacy and connection to the Black-owned community.
  3. Business Identity Confirmation:
    • Sellers may be asked to provide a government-issued ID to confirm the identity of the business owner(s) in certain instances. This ensures that the information provided is accurate and trustworthy.
  4. Additional Information (If Needed):
    • In some cases, we may request further details about the business, such as product origin or media coverage, to complete the verification process.

Why This Matters:
By conducting this verification process, we create a trusted platform where buyers can confidently support Black-owned businesses and sellers can benefit from a network dedicated to uplifting their efforts. This step reinforces Makolaa’s commitment to transparency, community building, and authenticity.
